Aylesbury Pond and Garden

This project was thoughtfully delivered in a series of carefully planned stages, allowing the garden to naturally evolve into a calm and cohesive outdoor retreat.

We began by constructing the pond, which now forms the heart of the garden. Designed with natural stone edging, gentle water movement, and carefully selected aquatic planting, the pond brings movement, wildlife interest, and a strong sense of tranquillity to the space.

Once the pond was established, we moved on to the hard landscaping elements. This included laying the patio areas and building the raised sleeper planting beds, creating structure, level changes, and defined zones throughout the garden. These features not only enhance usability but also frame the softer planting beautifully.

The next stage saw the installation of the decking and pergola area to the left-hand side of the garden. This created a dedicated seating and relaxation space, seamlessly connected to the surrounding planting and water features, and offering a comfortable spot to enjoy the garden throughout the day.

The project was then finished with carefully considered planting, combining texture, colour, and seasonal interest. Lavender, ornamental grasses, shrubs, and ground cover plants soften the hard landscaping, while enhancing the natural, calming feel of the garden as a whole.

It was a pleasure to see this project progress through each stage and to watch the garden grow and mature over time. The end result is a balanced, peaceful outdoor space that blends water, planting, and functional living areas into one harmonious design.
