Hemel Hempstead Garden Project
This project was designed around creating a low-maintenance yet highly engaging garden, with clearly defined areas for entertaining, relaxation, and year-round enjoyment. The client’s brief focused on introducing structure and interest, incorporating raised planting, a calming water feature, and integrated lighting to allow the garden to be enjoyed from day through to night.
The design centres around a strong sense of journey, with a carefully laid stone pathway leading through a series of timber pergola frames that add architectural rhythm and visual depth. Raised planting beds soften the structure, introducing seasonal colour and texture while remaining easy to maintain. A naturalistic water feature provides a tranquil focal point, bringing movement and sound into the space and creating a peaceful area to sit and unwind.
Garden lighting was thoughtfully layered throughout the scheme, highlighting key features and extending the usability of the garden into the evening — ideal for entertaining and social gatherings.
The project began with a collaborative design process, working closely with the client to develop a clear vision, material palette, and planting scheme. Once approved, the garden was carefully constructed in-house, resulting in a cohesive, contemporary outdoor space that perfectly reflects the client’s lifestyle and delivers the garden they had envisioned.
