This compact terrace garden was thoughtfully redesigned to create a contemporary, multi-functional outdoor space that feels both structured and inviting. The brief focused on maximising usability by introducing clearly defined zones that respond to the changing position of the sun throughout the day, allowing the homeowners to enjoy the garden from morning through to evening.

The design centres around a clean-lined porcelain patio that serves as a flexible entertaining and seating area, seamlessly connecting the house to the garden. A bespoke timber pergola with contemporary slatted fencing provides architectural interest, privacy, and dappled shade, creating a calm and sheltered retreat.

A striking water feature acts as a focal point, adding movement and a sense of tranquillity, while carefully positioned planting softens the hard landscaping and brings balance to the overall design. Raised beds and integrated planting pockets introduce texture and seasonal colour without overwhelming the compact footprint.

The result is a modern terrace garden that feels purposeful, elegant, and spacious—offering multiple seating areas, visual interest, and a strong connection between structure and nature.
